Mr. Suresh Beharry has over 26 years’ experience as a senior executive in the business community.
Previously Mr. Beharry has held positions with the Beharry Group ranging from Director of Finance, Internal Audit and Vice Chairman. Currently he holds the position of Chairman of the Beharry Group of Companies. The Beharry Group has been in existence for over 86 years and is now run by the third generation of the family.
The operations of the Beharry Group extends throughout the Caribbean region as well as North America. This diversified conglomerate covers Commercial and Investment Banking, Insurance, Stock Brokerage, Finance, Manufacturing, Marketing and Distribution, Automotive, Real Estate and Food Service. The Group employs in excess of 2,500 persons.
Mr. Beharry attended boarding school in Canada at Upper Canada College before moving onto York University and then returning to Guyana in support of the family business.
Mr. Beharry also sits on the Board of several private and public companies within the Caribbean and North America where he has brought a wealth of knowledge and valued business acumen to the table. He is also involved in several philanthropic initiatives.
